Welcome Home Elder Stewart

Today we had a Welcome Home for Elder Kyle Stewart who had been serving in Texas on his mission.  I was so touched by the great spirit that was in his sacrament meeting.  It really touched my heart and was so sweet.  Kyle really was a great missionary and I know he touched many people in Texas.  He has that fresh humble missionary feeling about him.    This is why these kids should serve missions.  It is for them to have a great start for the rest of their lives and to be able to be strong in the gospel.  Well Done Elder!!!

Knudsen Swimming Party and BBQ

Today Gary and I worked hard to get ready for our Knudsen family swimming party.  Then we had everyone start to come.  We had a great turn out and almost everyone from Gary's family came.  We had Jenny and her kids come in from Wisconsin and Jacque and Larry and Jesse from Colorado.  Everyone else was more local.  Connie even brought Grand-dad so he could be with all his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.  It was a super fun day spending time with family.  Everyone seemed to have a good time.

Jeff and Angela Wedding

Today we got to attend the wedding of Jeff and Angela Smith at the Payson Temple.  It was such a wonderful day and they both seem so happy.  I had some fun taking some pictures at the Temple.  I love the Payson temple.  It is so beautiful.  The entire day was perfect starting from the wedding, then the luncheon and we finished off in the evening at a reception in Janice's backyard.

Summer Fun and Exercise!

Well this summer has been a busy one.   Gary and I are empty nesters for a couple of months and then again in the fall when everyone is off to school.  Our new favorite thing to do is to bike ride.  We actually ride bikes almost every evening and we go all over the place. Our favorite is to ride our bikes to the bottom of the AF canyon and ride down a fun trail in Cedar hills and Highland Glen park.  We also love the Murdock trail which goes for miles and miles.   I decided it was about time to get a few pictures of Gary and I on our bikes. We usually wear helmets but for pictures today we decided to go without.

Another thing I have been doing this summer is waking up every morning and hiking to the Timp cave at 5:30 a.m. with my dear friend Ronda.  It is such great exercise and I love going early before it gets hot.

We also have been working on improving our yard.  I took one day and repainted our pool.  Gary just loved it and so he insisted I take a picture of it.

Here is a look at our square gardens.  I think we may have too good of soil because our plants are growing all over the place.  We may not have room for all the vegetables.
