Historic trip--Day 8 & 9

September 19th, Saturday
We woke up early and got ready for the day.  Today we were heading to Busch Gardens.  This is an amusement park that Bret's family loves and so we wanted to go and see what it was like.  We had a great day.  It was fun to see all the different countries and to see some fun plays.  Busch Gardens was decorated for Halloween and that was fun to see all the decorations for that.  We especially loved a play called Pet Shenanigans and we actually watched it twice.  Gary was the only one that was able to do roller coasters due to the vertigo that I have been having trouble with.    My parents also do not enjoy going on roller coasters.  These are the pictures I took:

Busch Gardens was all decorated for Halloween

Pet Shenanigans was our favorite show

Busch Gardens is the home of Roller Coasters as seen below:

We enjoyed a wonderful pasta lunch in the country representing Italy.  They also had amazing chocolate cake that we all shared.

More Park Fun!

What a fun day we had at the park.  After the park closed we went to check into our hotel which was a Quality inn near Busch Gardens.  Then we ate dinner at a Denny's and got ready for another late BYU football game.  We also got packed up for our trip home the next day.

Sept 20th--Sunday
Today we got dressed to go to church.  We attended the same church that we would have gone to last week if they had not been at Stake Conference.  It was a very good meeting and we enjoyed visiting this ward.  This ward had a lot of cute children and we realized how few children our own wards have at home compared to this ward.

We went back to our hotel and changed our clothes and packed up our car to head to the airport the scenic way.  We went by several plantations on the way to the airport.  One of the big plantations we looked at was called the Shirley Plantation.  Pictures below:

After our scenic tour we ate lunch at Cracker Barrel and then we got to the airport and checked in.  We had a couple hours before take off.  Finally it was time to fly home.  We got a little late start taking off on the plane from Richmond to Alanta, GA but we were still able to make it on our next flight that would take us to Salt Lake City.  After a long day of flying and traveling we made it home.

Historic Trip--Day 7

September 18th--Friday
Today we woke up and packed up for the day.  Had a nice breakfast at the hotel and we were off to go to see the Arlington Cemetery.  The traffic was crazy in Washington D.C. and Gary was concerned because he made my parents very nervous but it was because the roads were bad.  My mom and dad have been amazing on this trip and really have done everything.  We have keep things hopping that is for sure.  We made it to the cemetery just in time to see the changing of the guards.  Here are some pictures:

After the cemetery we headed  back to continue seeing some of the Smithsonian Museums.  Here are a couple of pictures we took on the way.

We first went to the space museum.  This is the museum that Gary wanted to see the most.  I also am including some of my favorite pictures:

The last museum we saw was the history museum about inventions and famous people.  It had all the presidents wives and the dress they wore.  Then a ton of inventions in the basement. Some of my favorites pictures are below.

We ran out of time and we left Washington DC.  We were headed back to our condo in Virginia.  On the way back home we stopped at Washington's home at Mt. Vernon for a tour.

We ate dinner after Mt. Vernon at Panera bread.  It is one of our new favorite restaurants.  They don't have it in Utah yet.  That night we made it back to our original condo.
